Chuckles Wigglebum

Well it's been a while since I've posted some pictures. Here are a whole bunch!! The above picture was taken two days ago at a local photo booth.
The next picture is Julia asleep on the bed at the cottage.

A wonderfully familiar sight: Julia peeking over Mark's shoulder.
Another familiar sight: BLOWOUT, and the subsequent necessary bath...
Summertime barbecue with Julia striking her favourite pose.

Julia looking a little like E.T.

All cuddly after the bath:Her beautiful blue eyes...
In the garden at the cottage. Good times in the summer!! We're going to miss these days.

Autie Ariel & Uncle Aidan Visit From Ontario

Below you will see the face of a very happy little girl. She is sitting in a Tim Horton's in the loving arms of her Auntie Ariel. It was a little chilly so Daddy brought in a blanket from the car. The blanket was so big that Julia almost got lost in it. We had several fun adventures while Ariel and Aidan were in Fredericton. We played mini-golf. It rained HARD but Julia was dry and safe in her little seat:

We went bowling at the northside Bowl-A-Drome. Here's a picture of Julia at the bowling alley. She looks like a tiny amputee with no arms: While we were eating pizza slices outside one evening when a whole pack of zombies came by and chased a guy up the staircase.
Julia LOVED her auntie Ariel who was so kind, gentle and patient with her. True to her reputation, Julia put on some splendid screaming shows and Ariel always lovingly talked to her to calm her down.

The McDermott kids minus one very important member: Auntie Meghan.

Julia was also spoiled rotten by her uncle Aidan. In this picture you can see how much she enjoyed it when he held her. She looks so tiny in Aidan's arms! We miss Aidan and Ariel already. The good news is that we'll see them again in a few short weeks when we come home to Ontario. Julia's first visit to the GTA!
I'll leave you with two of my favourite pictures from the visit.

Julia doing what she loves to do most...

...CHEW on a grown-up's thumb.
This video was taken this morning while Mark and I waited for coffee to brew. Our little gal refuses to take a soother or a bottle - she will however, happily chew on your thumb/hand for hours if you'll let her. For a child not even 11 weeks old, she sure gnaws hard. She can't be teething already, can she? Wild child.

Summertime Fun

Julia seems to be enjoying her first summer on the planet. Last night she saw her first ever fireworks show and she watched the whole thing and didn't even cry from the loud noises.
Sunny days have been a rarity this summer, but Julia is prepared to face the rays!Naps with Daddy in the park are always fun. Doesn't Julia look so tiny beside Mark?
Julia has taken to sucking on the hand/fingers of whoever is holding her. She refuses to take a soother or a bottle, but actually seeks out our hands to suck on. Here she is asleep in Mark's arms:
Nobody can make Julia smile like Mark can. Here they are in the evening sun in downtown Fredericton.

She looks like an African queen, but Julia is actually wearing her bloomers on her head. She seems a little uncertain about the look...

More pictures from Grandma and Nanu's visit

For those of you who don't have Facebook, here's a picture of Julia smiling. She smiles all the time these days and each one is a heart-melter. We were on our roadtrip to MA when she first started to really smile (as in "that's NOT gas" kind of smiles). I'll never forget a stop we made at a gas station and Julia decided to perform a smile-a-thon. We were both near tears it was so awesome. To have her start to interact with us has been so incredible.
Here's a picture of Nanu and Grandma on the day they left. You can see that Julia is in a funk about their departure.
Grandma and Julia... Julia is looking a little suspicious of the camera.
Ah, but a little kiss on the head from Grandma brings out a wee smile!
Singing songs with Nanu:
Right now Ariel and Aidan are here for a visit. I'll post a bunch of pictures of them as soon as Julia gives me enough time to upload some photos!
