Mathieu and Julia

Mathieu had Julia in hysterics simply by bouncing a ball for her. It was a riot to watch and I managed to film the tail end of it.

Easter 2010

Last Easter was spent transforming what had become a storage room into Julia's bedroom. We worked and worked and worked and it sort of turned into the long weekend that wasn't. This year we decided to go on a little adventure to Montreal.
Julia was a phenomenal little traveler. She did so well in the car!! It was a lot of driving for a little person and she managed so incredibly well. (9 hours each way) We are so proud of her!

We had lunch at an El-Salvador(i)an restaurant. Our vegetarian feast was amazing and the kiddies loved it too.

The weekend was filled with great company. We got to see Great Grandma Julia, Aunty Patsy and Julia got to meet Mathieu, James and Rosanne.

Julia is a city girl all the way. We left James and Rosanne's at 9pm and figured she'd be asleep before we reached the corner but nope, Julia loved the bus and metro so much that she stayed awake the whole time. Julia would wave at each person who entered and left the subway car.
Some of the best pad thai I've ever had in my life is at this tiny little place in Montreal. We chowed down!


We are back home and Julia is currently napping. She has 6 teeth and two more on the way. She continues to be a delightful little munchkin.

Random Shots

We are about to head out the door for a visit to the grade 2 classroom that we've been matched with for Roots of Empathy. Julia is on the floor beside me playing with her toy piano.
I uploaded the following shots when I was still in BC (we got home on the weekend) but didn't get a chance to post them.

And finally, playing on the toy horse at Value Village. Ever since she saw her first horse in Cuba Julia has loved them. She even went wonky for the stuffed horse at the Royal BC museum.
It looks like another gorgeous day here in Freddy beach. I have a ton of pictures to post and will get them up eventually. Now it is time to get the babe ready for the road.

Happy Birthday 9 Months Old!

Our Victorian beauty. Here's a picture of Julia in Grandma's lap from our Old Time photo shoot. Meghan organized for us to go and get a picture done. Julia didn't feel like smiling but she was excellent sitting on Grandma's lap and staring at the photographer. I'm always telling people that Julia will win any staring contest she enters. We call her the baby that never blinks. I think she kind of looks like a porcelain doll in this picture:This next picture is kind of eerie because just moments after it was taken Meghan took an awful spill down a set of stair. We heard it but didn't see it, but the sound alone was awful. Meghan was dazed and banged up but otherwise alright. She figures that she was looking at some pictures hanging on the wall and lost her footing. Thank GOODNESS she's fine.

Here we have Meghan and Julia in the dining room. Julia loves been carried around by Meghan and will happily go to her. It's great to see Julia getting attached to people other than Mommy and Daddy.
