Julia On The Move

Here we have proof that Julia is sleeping in her crib. She's a funny little girl. For some reason she has no trouble sleeping in her crib for daytime naps but at night she is perfecting her protesting skills. Julia seems to have a sensor built in and knows the moment she's getting close to her crib. Last night we caved in at 12:35am and let her crawl into bed with us. Within 2 minutes she was fast asleep. Any suggestions??

Last week we had a wicked awesome visit from Andre and Janelle. They came to town for an Ani DiFranco concert that ended up being canceled. Well, imagine our delight at getting to hang out with our best buds mid-week! Somehow I didn't get a picture of Janelle, but here is one of Andre and Julia chillin' in the kitchen. Julia had been entertaining us with her Cuban instruments.
The little musician in action:
Changes just keep on happening on the mobility front. As of Thursday (January 28 - Julia's 8 month and 1 day birthday) Julia has begun to stand up all alone - hands free! Our friends Matt, Ange and Ellie were over for dinner and Mark thought Julia was holding on to Ellie, but was in fact standing solo. In less than two weeks Julia and I are Toronto bound and then BC bound! Our friends and family are going to notice such a difference in Julia even just since Christmas.
I'm going to leave you with some pictures of Julia getting herself into trouble (stuck) because of her backwards crawling tactics.

Below is a JibJab video of Julia and her cousin Oscar figure skating. Ha ha! Oscar is two years old now, but I couldn't resist using that particular picture. Julia looks rather strange with hair. I'm kind of fond of her bald look compared to her figure skating do. Enjoy...
